I'm not a designer so I can't quite speak to the technicalities of the piece. But the first thing I notice about the piece as a professional martial artist and instructor is that the katana are upside down. The proper and practical way for a katana and wazikashi to be worn is actually with the blade edge upward. With the way the swords are positioned now, she wouldn't be able to slash an adversary properly on the draw. When you grip a knife,sword, or any slashing weapon, the blade lines up with the knuckles. That maximizes cutting power. Here's a youtube video that explains the mechanics of drawing a katana.
